Stronger Together: South Asialink Finance Corporation and PBCWE Unite for Gender Equality in the Workplace

2 June 2025, Pasig City, Philippines — The Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) officially welcomed South Asialink Finance Corporation (SAFC) as its newest member in a Welcome Event held on May 23, 2025. The event marked the beginning of a shared commitment to foster inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive workplaces across the finance sector and beyond. 

The Welcome Event was attended by SAFC’s senior leadership, led by President and CEO Kevin John Cabanban, who shared the company’s intention to broaden its support for inclusive entrepreneurship initiatives. 

“We are happy about this engagement with PBCWE and we are looking into strengthening our women-led entrepreneur programs by partnering with PBCWE in scaling and sustaining it,” said Cabanban. 

The session was facilitated by Reuben James Barrete, Program Manager at PBCWE, who outlined the coalition’s services, engagement pathways, and the value of data-driven workplace transformation. 

Jennifer Love Reyes, Business Development and Marketing Manager at PBCWE, presented the membership benefits and responsibilities, emphasizing collaboration, access to expert resources, and participation in knowledge-sharing initiatives that enable a more inclusive business environment. 

Julia Abad, Executive Director of PBCWE, provided an overview of the coalition’s mission, highlighting its role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion for all genders in the private sector. She also shared milestones in policy advocacy, leadership engagement, and strategic partnerships across industries. 

With SAFC joining the ranks of forward-thinking companies in PBCWE’s network, the coalition continues to broaden its impact in shaping workplaces that are respectful, diverse, and inclusive for everyone—regardless of gender identity or background.
