The International Labour Organization and Investing In Women share a mutual interest in demonstrating the business case for workplace gender equality (WGE). IW collaborated with ILO to produce the research brief, “The business case for women in business and management in the Philippines”, which presents evidence on how greater gender diversity across different levels of the workforce creates business benefits for enterprises, including higher profitability and productivity, increased ability to retain talent, and greater creativity, among others. It also includes insights on areas such as women in leadership, flexible work arrangements and the link between gender balance on boards and improved business outcomes.
IW and ILO have worked closely with the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines to organise this online event to socialise the report and foster a rich discussion on women’s economic empowerment.
Diversity and inclusion initiatives promote fairness and equality, increase employee morale, and motivate employees to work effectively and efficiently. As we transition to a post-COVID-19 business setting, D&I and visible leadership play a crucial role in driving innovation and business competitiveness.
We invite the entire business community to heed this call.
