Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE), an inaugural project under the Philippine Women’s Economic Network (PhilWEN), announced its partnership with the Makati Business Club to present the real state of gender diversity in Philippine corporations. The PBCWE-MBC research and advocacy project entitled, “Addressing the Leaking Pipeline in the Philippines (ALPP): Evidence-based Advocacy for Gender Diversity in the C-Suite,” seeks to assess and provide manageable and realistic solutions for companies to practice gender diversity in top management.

The joint project will be reviewing all related literature on gender diversity in the C-Suite level in Philippine corporations, and collecting first-hand data from mid-level managers to determine the desired career paths of both males and females in a corporation and identify the gaps that prevent them from aiming for a top-management position or for getting there.
“A balance of gender representation at management levels is critical to the success of business, particularly in the Philippines” said Makati Business Club Chairperson Edgar Chua. “We must be able to address these gaps within the leadership pipeline if we want businesses to thrive.”
